Why does skin aging accelerate?
Some of the issues you might have neglected
Sleeping position
The way the rest on the pillow, in the same way every night for years, causes certain wrinkles. Called sleep lines, these wrinkles get worse and not disappear easily.
Women who tend to sleep on their sides will see these lines the fastest as they begin to persist on the cheeks and chin. Men will notice them especially on the forehead, because they sleep in the general face to pillow position.
Sleep deprivation
Too little sleep will make you look and feel tired. One of the first places that signals sleep deprivation is the area under the eyes: dark circles, puffiness and sagging skin under your eyes.
Lack of sleep is an important trigger for memory loss too and depression symptoms include decreased interest in daily activities and negative thinking. Research has shown that for most adults a 8-9 hours of sleep per night is needed.
Facial expressions
If you make facial expressions to maintain the skin’s youthful appearance is time to stop.
Repetitive facial movements will lead to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.
Every time you use a facial muscle you contribute to the formation of facial lines. As the skin ages and loses its elasticity it no longer returns to the starting position so well and ditches that occur during facial expression will remain constant as wrinkles and fine lines.
How to prevent premature skin aging
Aging process can not be stopped, but you can prevent signs of premature aging by protecting your skin from the sun, smoking cessation and avoidance of facial exercises.
Dermatologists recommend taking measures to prevent premature aging caused by sun:
– Avoid artificial tanning (solarium)
– Do not sunbathe between 11 to 15 hours when the sun’s rays are strongest
– Wear full protective clothing (wide-brimmed hat, long sleeves) when sitting outdoors during the day apply sunscreen with broad spectrum (UVA and UVB) with a sun protection factor of 30 or higher. The cream should be applied 20 minutes before going outdoors and be reapplied after sweating or swimming.
Treatments
If you have disturbing signs of visible aging, you should know that there are a series of treatments. A doctor recommendation should fit you best.
Scientific research in the field of anti-aging continues to offer new treatment options some are very promising. The dermatologist may recommend different options, including regarding the use of products which don’t necessarily come with a prescription. During your consultation, your doctor will examine your skin and will discuss the expectations you have while indicating appropriate treatment options.
